Episode 101: Ben Cowan-Dewar

Ben Cowan-Dewar has developed some of the greatest golf destinations in the world under his Cabot brand, including Cabot Cape Breton, Cabot Citrus Farms, Cabot Saint Lucia and Cabot Highlands in Scotland. In the process he’s worked closely with a broad stable of important architects like Bill Coore, Tom Doak, Kyle Franz and Rod Whitman.

He joins Derek Duncan to discuss how he currently forecasts the luxury golf market, the difficulty of building Cabot Links with Mike Keiser, thoughts on the new Cabot Wilds, how Cabot Revelstoke might compare to Banff Springs and Jasper Park, Whitman’s mastery of green shaping, using a range of different architects for his projects and how the future of golf development may be in the rehabilitation of existing properties.
